Normalizing the Bicycle
Mikael Colville-Andersen was by far the most dynamic speaker of the recent Utah Bike Summit - and though many of his proposals and concepts are more applicable to dense urban situations than Cache Valley's more rural ones, he nonetheless makes many good points about how transportation solutions should truly begin to look at solving more problems than just how to move more cars, faster. And more than anything, normalize the use of the bicycle. There should be no 'bicycle culture' any more than we have a 'hammer and nail culture' - both are just tools to solve a job.
