Job Title:

Seasonal Firefighter/Fuels Mitigation Specialist (May 29th – Oct 1st)

Range:

$12.74 - $18.24 per hour

Hours:

40+ Hours/Week

Monday-Friday

Location:

Cache County Fire District

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
Graduation from High School AND Current NWCG certification as Wildland FF2 or Wildland FF1 (preferred) OR current NWCG Engine boss task book issued or ENGB (preferred).

 

Essential Functions:

Perform fuels mitigation and wildland fire suppression. Skill in the safe operation and use of all wildland firefighter equipment including but not limited to saws, pumps, hose, hand tools, vehicle operations and vehicle maintenance. Ability to work independently and deal effectively with stress caused by firefighting operations, fatigue and heat. Ability to work well with the public and represent the agency at public education forums. The work environment will primarily be outside for the duration of the fire season. Work setting will include heat, direct sun, dust, smoke, and other environmental hazards associated with wildland firefighting. Tasks require a variety of physical activities such as walking, hiking, standing, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing and seeing. Common eye hand, finger, dexterity required for most essential function. Heavy lifting up to 100 lbs. may be required
