To be eligible to vote in an election in the State of Utah, you must register to vote using the address of your primary residence. Registration is a simple process of completing a Voter Registration Form in person or through the mail. All U.S. citizens who are at least 17 years of age and who are residents of the State of Utah may register to vote. However, you will not be eligible to vote until you are 18 years old. Your application will be put on hold and your voter identification card will be sent to you when you turn 18. By-mail voter registration ends 30 days prior to an election. You may register to vote in person in the Clerk's Office up to 15 days before the election.
To Register to vote in Utah you must
- Be a citizen of the United States.
- Be at least 17 years old, however, you will not eligible to vote until you are 18 years old. Your application will be put on hold and your voter identification card will be sent to you when you turn 18.
- A resident of the state of Utah for 30 days immediately before the next election.
Re-register to vote when
- Your name or address has changed.
- You want to affiliate with a political party or change party affiliation.
