Dog Licenses
It shall be unlawful for any person or other entity to own, keep, maintain or have permanent or temporary custody of a dog within the limits of Cache County, exclusive of the incorporated areas, without obtaining and possessing a current license or certificate of registration of the dog. (C.C. Ord #2007-01)
It shall be unlawful for any person to have more than three dogs upon his premises without having a dog kennel license for the keeping of the dogs and for the purpose of breeding or raising of dogs. The annual license tax for dog kennels is 4-10 dogs= $40.00; over 10 dogs= $50.00. (C.C. Ord #2007-01)
Owners of impounded animals will be charged a $30.00 fee to be paid to the County plus a board fee of $6.60 per day per animal to be paid to the veterinarian. They must also supply proof of a rabies vaccination or the animal must be given one before being released. Impounded animals will be held a total of three (3) working days. Any animals unclaimed after three (3) working days will then be euthanized. Euthanasia charges will be $13.00 per animal.
Dog licenses are available at the Cache County Clerk’s Office, 179 N. Main, Suite 102, Logan, Utah. Before coming into the office, please have proof of the dog’s rabies vaccination. Proof of Rabies Vaccination
NOTE: You must live OUTSIDE the city limits in order to register with Cache County. The County Clerk's Office only licenses dogs in the unincorporated areas of the county. If you live within your city limits, please register your dog(s) with your city or town.
