Sesquicentennial Choir

Cache County sesquicentennial choir

Become a part of history as Cache County celebrates 150 years. Voices of Cache County are welcome to join the sesquicentennial choir and participate in the celebration. Practices for the choir are May 16, 23 and 30 in the Logan Tabernacle at 7 p.m. Warren Burton, author and Utah State University music professor, will be conducting the musical numbers. The performance will be June 1 with Governor Jon Huntsman and other dignitaries speaking at the event. For more information keep checking back.

Warren L Burton

From his early servitude to his mother's promptings to practice, he went on to play under the baton of such conductors as Charles Munch, Leonard Bernstein, Maurice Abravanel and Robert Shaw. He spent his 39 year career as professor of music at Utah State University where he served seven years as department head. His popular music appreciation course was taught to hundreds each semester in the concert hall and was broadcast on the radio for over 25 years. He received his doctor of musical arts from the University of Oregon. He has served three missions for his church-two with his wife Alta, one of which was as mission president of the Germany Munich Mission.
